Presenter, Dale Rankine, is a Certified Adobe Instructor for Flash Lite. In this five hour series, Dale helps you get your feet wet with an introduction to the Flash Lite player and an explanation of some of the basic differences between mobile specific issues and the desktop Flash player. Next, you'll move on to how to develop the user interface and use external data with name-value pairs and XML. The final lessons demonstrate how to work with external media and platforms.

Microsoft Expression Studio
Microsoft recently announced the release of Expression Studio, a new set of design tools to give you the flexibility and freedom to bring your vision to reality-whether you are designing standards-based Web sites, rich user experiences on the desktop, or managing digital assets and content.
PC Magazine called the beta of Expression Web "...a powerful, flexible, and highly-polished tool. Among knowledgeable designers, it's likely to become one of the top two choices..."
Two-hours of sample tutorials produced by Total Training and hosted by Internet guru, Janine Warner, are included with Expression Web product boxes. Total Training will also provide sample video tutorials for the entire Expression Studio, which includes Expression Blend, Expression Design, and Expression Media. The full Expression Studio is scheduled for release in Q2 of 2007.

What is the favorite project on which you ever worked? |

Probably the first Flash Lite game I built - "Whack Attack". I was building it for myself and had no deadline. Then later I got to sell it to Nokia, so it was an all around perfect project! |

My creative times can strike at any moment. I carry a large notebook with me so I can write/sketch/plan whenever the ideas come. Sometimes I'll find myself up very late at night designing something, and other times it could be in the middle of the day. |

When you're not plugged into work, what are you doing? |

|
Making music and playing drums in my wife's band. Spending time with my three daughters. I also collect comics and super-hero toys.

I'm completely self-taught. I was a full-time drummer when I discovered Flash in 1996 and started to teach myself web design using Notepad and Corel Draw. After my life in rock 'n' roll I thought I'd give web design a go.
